YEARS IN THE MAKING
Having always excelled in Fashion and Textiles, from the age of fourteen Ellen worked in a fabric shop where she would spend all of her earnings on materials for new projects. She soon found that her biggest love was making lingerie and lingerie inspired outerwear, where technical construction meets intricate detailing, and started her own lingerie brand.
Alongside running this business, Ellen worked as a sewing machinist and began working with various other lingerie brands where she broadened her knowledge of design and manufacturing and developed a strong business acumen. Having been predominantly self-taught at this stage, Ellen made the decision to apply to university and was accepted onto the Fashion Contour course at London College of Fashion.
Here, Ellen refined her skills in sewing, pattern cutting and digital illustration, and threw herself wholeheartedly into both the course and gaining industry experience. In 2021 Ellen graduated with a First Class Honours and a job in industry, after creating a collection of sustainable, lingerie inspired stagewear with a 1970s aesthetic.
After working as the Production Manager for a London supplier specialising in lingerie, swimwear and activewear, Ellen later moved on to a Garment Technologist role at a renowned lingerie brand and supplier, conducting fit sessions and managing high profile accounts including Whistles, Topshop and River Island.
